WS 2011 Research Needs Assessment

Ranking of Species/Species Groups

Eighty-six federal employees specified a species or species group in their written descriptions of their top three research needs. Feral swine and coyotes/canids by far were the species most frequently mentioned, followed by beavers and blackbirds/starlings. Feral swine and coyotes/canids also topped the written list of problems specified by state and private respondents, followed by bears, deer, and cormorants.
