The
National Wildlife Research Center experienced nine name changes since
1939 that reflected the changing economy, society and culture of the
United States. The beginnings of the Center, as we know it today, started
in 1939, however predecessor organizations originated with the Bureau
of Biological Survey in 1885. If calculated from 1885, NWRC underwent
18 name changes!
