HPAI surveillance (July 2008)
WDB Pipas conducted a mist netting operation for two nights at a local lake. Despite an abundance
of shorebirds on site, the capture rate was fairly low (9 birds total). Kerri Pedersen, staff WDB
stationed in Fort Collins, Colorado, played a stellar supporting role in the capture operation, according to Pipas.
