SPECIAL INTEREST

HPAI surveillance in Ector County (July 2008)
WDB Bazan and TWS biologist, Jim Harper, collected seven cloacal/oropharyngeal samples and 20
environmental samples in Ector County. These pre-migration samples were taken from resident
mallards and a mix of other waterfowl species located at a city park in Odessa. This city park is
frequented by wild birds during migration.
