Wildlife Services Provides People with Technical and Operational Assistance

Hotline

In some states, WS operates Hotlines to provide specific detailed information to requestors regarding issues of broad or urgent public interest, such as rabies, wildlife diseases, and urban wildlife.  Hotline programs are typically conducted by WS through agreements with other agencies, especially State wildlife agencies, due to heightened or prolonged public issues that require coordinated, consistent, and rapid response.  WS gathers information about the issue, records health and safety details, and clarifies management options and priorities for the callers.  Biological information about the wildlife species and the situation is also provided.
