Threatened and Endangered Species

South Carolina

South Carolina

WS biologists address damage or threats posed by wildlife to South Carolina’s transportation, infrastructure, crops, timber, and natural resources, including the Federally threatened loggerhead sea turtle.  Erosion and heavy predation from feral swine and coyotes have significantly decreased this turtle’s hatching success; therefore, WS is working cooperatively with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources to enhance this northern sub-population’s recovery.
