The US Fish and Wildlife Service is responsible for the following seven threatened and endangered species in Alaska: Aleutian shield fern, Steller’s and spectacled eiders, short-tailed albatross, polar bear, Southwest Alaska population of the northern sea otter, and the Eskimo curlew.
