The US Fish and Wildlife Service is responsible for the following seven threatened and endangered species in Alaska:  Aleutian shield fern, Steller’s and spectacled eiders, short-tailed albatross, polar bear, Southwest Alaska population of the northern sea otter, and the Eskimo curlew.  For more information about these and other rare and declining species in Alaska, refer to the website at http://alaska.fws.gov/
