Indiana

WS in Indiana partners with the Federal Aviation Administration, the Indiana Department of Transportation, and civilian and military aviation communities to address the increasing threat to public safety from wildlife collisions with aircraft.  After WS became involved with a major airport in Indiana, strike numbers decreased an average of 80 percent.  To reduce the number of wildlife strikes, WS personnel in Indiana contributed 3.686 staff years to provide assistance at 20 civil, 2 joint use, and 1 military airport for a total of 23 airports in FY 2010.  In addition, technical training was provided at 11 airports for 77 airport personnel.
