Pennsylvania’s airports have an increased potential to experience significant damage to aircraft from a bird/ aircraft strike because the airports are situated in the Atlantic Flyway, a north-south migration corridor for birds.  To address this and other wildlife hazards, WS personnel in Pennsylvania contributed 10.167 staff years to provide assistance at 21 civil, 6 joint use, and 2 military airports for a total of 29 airports in FY 2010.  In addition, technical training was provided at 10 airports for 273 airport personnel.
