Wildlife/ aircraft strikes cause more than $625 million in damage to U.S. civil aviation annually.  In New Jersey, many wildlife species are increasing in abundance and distribution and pose unacceptable safety hazards.  To address wildlife hazards at airports, WS personnel in New Jersey contributed 4.049 staff years to provide assistance at 9 civil, 1 joint use, and 2 military airports in FY 2010.  In addition, technical training was provided at 5 airports for 79 airport personnel.
