White-tailed deer, Canada geese, gulls, and other wildlife pose a major hazard to aircraft throughout Maine.  WS biologists are trained to assess wildlife hazards and provide technical and operational assistance at military and civilian airports.  During FY 2010, WS personnel in Maine contributed 0.525 staff years to provide assistance at 10 civil, 1 joint use, and 1 military airport.  In addition, technical training was provided at 5 airports for 29 airport personnel.
