From 1990 to 2007, Hawaii’s airports ranked 15th in the total reported wildlife strikes in the United States.  Airfield managers rely on WS’ expertise to manage wildlife problems at all of the major airports in Hawaii.  During FY 2008, the Hawaii WS program contributed 24.203 staff years to provide assistance at 10 civil, 3 joint use, and 3 military airports for a total of 16 airports.  In addition, technical training was provided at six airports to 13 airport personnel.
