The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is announcing the availability of an environmental assessment (EA) regarding the biological control of yellow toadflax, Linaria vulgaris. Yellow toadflax is an invasive plant in pastures and crops that displaces other native and planted species. The EA considers the effects of the field release of the stem gall weevil, R. Pilosa, as a biological control agent to reduce the severity of yellow toadflax infestations.
APHIS invites the public to review and comment on the EA by November 1, 2017. Learn more at https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=APHIS-2017-0071-0001
