The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has amended the cold treatment schedule T107-d-3 in the Plant Protection and Quarantine Treatment Manual to include grapefruit from Australia. Under the regulations, certain plants, fruits, vegetables, and other articles must be treated before they can be moved into the United States or interstate. This is necessary to safeguard against the introduction of invasive plant pests. After care study and review APHIS experts have determined that the cold treatment schedule T107-d-3 will be authorized for use on grapefruit from Australia, effective upon notice in the Federal Register on September 5, 2017.
The PPQ Treatment Manual is available here.
