LABORATORY CERTIFICATION

Laboratories are required to obtain approval from Veterinary Services before they can conduct certain tests to certify animals for movement or to participate in eradication programs. These test include serological tests for bluetongue, bovine leukosis, equine infectious anemia, and pseudorabies; culturing for contagious equine metritis; and testing to certify the export of aquatic animals, embryos, ova, and semen. In each instance, the laboratory requesting approval should contact the Area Veterinarian-in-Charge for their state.

List of approved laboratories:

The NVSL provides proficiency test panels for many of the tests listed above and for other purposes such as participation in State Herd Health Programs for Johne's Disease. The following is a list of the proficiency test panels that are offered and the contact person for each panel. A user fee will be charged for most test panels.
