Equine Piroplasmosis
Equine piroplasmosis is a parasitic disease caused by Babesia equi and Babesia caballi. Although equine piroplasmosis is primarily transmitted to horses by ticks, this bloodborne disease has been spread mechanically from animal to animal by contaminated needles.
