Regional Highlights

In an ever-changing world of increased trade and globalization, it is important to recognize the role regionalization plays in animal disease management. VS is divided into two regions, east and west, and within these regions, all aspects of VS activities are conducted daily. Whether it is domestic detection and surveillance as part of a national program, exclusion activities as part of FAD investigations or strengthening partnerships with states and industry, eradication campaigns for animal disease outbreaks, or the collection of data to disseminate to trading partners on U.S. animal disease status, it is impossible to ignore the importance a regions play within the national structure of VS.
