If you have any questions or concerns regarding these regulations for exporting animals or animal products to a foreign country, you should contact the APHIS-VS Area Office in the State from which the animals or products will be exported. Honduras - Summary of Requirements Export alert: Currently Honduras is conducting inspection upon arrival for all consignments originating from Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina for detection of Megacopta cribraria(common name, Kudzu bug). Exporters, please inspect containers for this insect prior to shipping to avoid delay or rejection. The following protocols for exporting animals to Honduras are available through the International Regulations Retrieval System (IRRS). SPECIES - MOST RECENT UPDATE Cattle Breeding Protocol - May 2006 (pdf 92kb) Sheep - April 2005 (pdf 19kb) Goats - September 2008 (pdf 67kb) Horses - January 2009 (pdf 35kb) Swine - January 1988 (pdf 5kb) For species not listed, the requirements are not known. However, exporters wanting to ship livestock or germplasm whose requirements are not listed in the IRRS, should have the interested party (importer/buyer) in the country of destination apply for an Import Permit at the appropriate ministry. This Import Permit will most likely outline the specific requirements.
