A. Permits are generally valid for 4 years.

Q. Do I need a permit to import honey?
A.
Yes, if the honey is to be used for bee feed. No, if the honey is for human consumption. For human consumption, USDA does not have regulatory authority. Please contact Food and Drug Administration for applicable permit requirements.

Q. Do I need a permit to move Bombus impatiens and Bombus occidentalis interstate?
A.
No permit is required for interstate transport of these species, as long as the shipments are free of plant material and are coming from a U. S. or Canadian source. USDA does not regulate Bombus impatiens and Bombus occidentalis under the Plant Protection Act of 2000.
