Staten Island Infestation Information

In March 2007, an ALB infestation was discovered on Prall's Island, an uninhabited 80-acre island lying in the Arthur Kill between New Jersey and Staten Island. Subsequent investigations of potential ALB host trees on Staten Island turned up three ALB infested trees in the northwester sector of the island. A 7.8 mile quarantine has been put in place for parts of Staten Island to support in ALB eradication activities, which have commenced there as of May 2007.
