Contact: USDA ANNOUNCES SECOND PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS USER FEE INCREASES WASHINGTON, Oct. 20, 2009--The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) today announced that it will be holding a second public meeting to discuss the agricultural quarantine and inspection (AQI) user fee increases scheduled to go into effect on Nov. 1. The meeting will take place Oct. 27. At this meeting, APHIS seeks to gather feedback and to address questions and concerns that stakeholders may have regarding the AQI user fee increases. APHIS will also continue to accept public comments until Nov. 27. The public meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. The meeting takes place at the USDA Center at Riverside, 4700 River Road, Riverdale, Md. # Note to Reporters: USDA news releases, program announcements and media advisories are available on the Internet and through Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds.
