Executive Services & Leadership Support recognizes that the world around us is an ever-increasing swirl of change. Little remains simple and all around us seems to tend toward complexity. ESLS also knows that sometimes these changes are chosen by us as leaders and sometimes we find the change thrust upon us. And sometimes we have lots of time to prepare for it and sometimes we do not. In any case, we are prepared to help you come out on the other side of change resilient and successful. There are two processes that must be managed during this time of swirl; change and transition.
Change is the external event or decision that knocks us out of status quo. It could be changing strategic direction, moving offices, acquiring a new function or team in your sphere of influence, or any other myriad of options. The point is change can and should be managed well so that the desired results of the shift are met.
Transition, unfortunately, is often the missed piece of the change puzzle, usually because we do not understand its significance and therefore ignore it or assume it will happen without active intervention on our part as a leader. But transition, the emotional and human component of change, requires its very own and very different process to be managed if we ant to be optimally successful on the other side of the change event.
