Developmental Coaching

ESLS will provide five types of distinctly different coaching services, utilizing a combination of internal and external coaches. The type of coaching services required will be determined on an individual case-by case basis in consultation with an Executive Consultant from ESLS. These five types of coaching services are available to all APHIS leaders

  • Leadership Coaching - ESLS and External
  • APHIS Internal Coaching
  • Developmental Coaching
  • Situational Coaching
  • Transitional Coaching

Developmental Coaching – This type of coaching is focused on your personal growth goals. Generally speaking, the coaching would include development of and around an actionable Executive Development Plan. This written document will hold your identified goals, the actions and resources needed to get there, and specific clarity on exactly what success looks like.

The way to gain a good reputation is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear.
– Socrates

Where as situational and transitional coaching usually focuses on the conditions of the external environment, this coaching is purposefully geared towards optimizing performance in your current job, or related to those things you need to do to best set yourself up for a promotion opportunity.

How does a Leader initiate the Coaching Process?

Individual leaders within APHIS are encouraged to contact ESLS for coaching support. The Executive Consultants will work with individuals to determine the appropriate coaching resource.
