Once an individual enters into the Senior Executive Service (SES) their ongoing development continues.  Faced with constant challenges, changing technologies and a fluid environment, executives need to pursue ongoing professional executive development. It is crucial that executives continue to strengthen and reinforce their Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) skills and knowledge.

The Executive Support and Leadership Services (ESLS) Branch is available to assist with the preparation, implementation, and continual update of Executive Development Plans (EDPs) for all senior executives. ESLS will:

  • help with the logistics for getting enrolled in the SESCDP programs
  • provide context for anticipated learning’s in these programs, and assist with developing application strategies
  • be available to consult on identifying a senior executive's short-term and long-term developmental activities
  • research and identify development opportunities which will allow the executive to develop a broader perspective in the agency as well as Government-wide.
  • ensure development activities meet organizational needs for leadership, managerial improvement.
