USDA ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR THE INTERSTATE MOVEMENT OF GARBAGE FROM HAWAII

WASHINGTON, May 20, 2005 —The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service today released for public comment an environmental assessment related to the interstate movement of garbage from Hawaii.

Prepared in response to a request to allow the interstate movement of garbage from Hawaii , the assessment documents APHIS’ review and analysis of environmental impacts associated with, and alternatives to, the proposed action.

This notice is published in the May 20 Federal Register. APHIS documents published in the Federal Register are available on the Internet at http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ppd/rad/webrepor.html.

Consideration will be given to comments received on or before June 20. Send an original and three copies of postal or commercial delivery comments to Docket No. 02-046-1, Regulatory Analysis and Development, PPD, APHIS, Station 3C71, 4700 River Road Unit 118, Riverdale, MD 20737-1238.
