*SPECIAL CATEGORY REGARDING FMD AND RINDERPEST BECAUSE, EVEN THOUGH THE COUNTRY/AREA HAS BEEN DETERMINED BY THE USDA TO BE FREE OF FMD AND RINDERPEST, ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS OCCUR:
(1) They supplement their national meat supply through the importation of fresh, chilled, or frozen meat of ruminants or swine from countries/regions that are NOT designated in Title 9, CFR, Part 94.1(a) (hereafter known as The Regulations) as free of FMD and Rinderpest; or
(2) They have a common land border with countries/regions that are NOT designated in The Regulations as free of FMD and Rinderpest; or
(3) They import ruminants or swine from countries/regions that are NOT designated in The Regulations as free of FMD and Rinderpest under conditions less restrictive than would be acceptable for importation into the United States.
NOTE: The table above is modified only when there are changes to the disease status of countries or regions.
