Notification is an administratively-streamlined alternative to the permit. The genetically engineered (GE) plant must meet specified eligibility criteria, and the introduction must meet certain pre-defined performance standards.
APHIS now accepts notifications online through ePermits. Applicants are encouraged to use the ePermits system.

If you can’t find answers to your questions about the notification process here, please contact a BRS biotechnologist by sending your questions to biotechquery@aphis.usda.gov.
