National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA): BRS' Pilot Project

Divider

Overview of BRS' NEPA Pilot Project

The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Pilot Project is a two-year, voluntary project to assess new approaches for developing the documents and environmental analyses used to inform APHIS/BRS decisions associated with the regulation of genetically engineered organisms.

The goal of the project is to evaluate methods for increasing the quality and efficiency (less time, lower costs) of NEPA analyses related to petitions for nonregulated status.
