The following organizations or individuals participated in the Stakeholder Meetings held in late February and early March of 2004. In these meetings, stakeholders responded to the January 23, 2004 Federal Register Notice, entitled "Environmental Impact Statement; Introduction of Genetically Engineered Organisms." In this notice, APHIS presented eleven questions that BRS will consider as it seeks to revise the regulations for biotechnology-improved products. These organisms qualify for APHIS oversight under the 7CFR 340 Regulations. An Environmental Impact Statement will be prepared to evaluate these issues and any others that might be raised by the public or other stakeholders. The links here are transcripts from the discussions between stakeholders and BRS representatives.
