APHIS Summer Intern Program

USDA-APHIS offers paid summer internships involving substantive work assignments to college students/high graduated who have been accepted by a college or university.

This program is intended to help agencies attract and recruit exceptional individuals into the federal workforce.

Announcement and Application Process

  • Positions are available Nationwide

  • Students apply for the vacancies and a certificate of eligibles and applications are forwarded to the selecting officials for the selection process

  • Deadline for submission - February 28, 2006

Pay Scale

*Salary Estimate per Intern
GS - 2 $4,924 GS - 3 $5,373
GS - 4 $6,030 GS - 5 $6,745
GS - 7 $8,357 GS - 9 $10,224

*Based on 12-week work assignment
(assuming at least a 3.1% increase for FY 2006)

*Salary is paid for by the employing program
