USDA Announces Supplement to Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for 2017 Oral Rabies Vaccine Trials

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal Plant Health and Inspection Service (APHIS) has prepared a supplement to an environmental assessment (EA) and finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for oral rabies vaccination field trials in New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Vermont, and West Virginia.  The finding, which is based on the EA and the 2013, 2015, and 2017 supplements to the EA, reflects our determination that the distribution of this experimental wildlife rabies vaccine will not have a significant impact on the quality of the human environment.  APHIS recently issued a press release on the 2017 field trials.  The full notice is in today’s Federal Register and may be viewed here.
