Tuberculosis and Brucellosis Programs of the Future
Bovine Tuberculosis Listening Sessions
From December 8 through 16, 2008, USDA held a series of public meetings, formatted as Listening Sessions, to bring various stakeholders together to discuss challenges and new approaches for tuberculosis control methods and eradication in the United States.
In October 2009, USDA published two concept papers in the Federal Register that proposed new directions for two of its longstanding disease eradication programs - bovine tuberculosis and brucellosis. These concept papers present USDA’s current thinking about changes being considered to address several challenges impeding the eradication of these diseases.
In May 2011, USDA published a regulatory framework that described eight interrelated elements for the TB and brucellosis proposed rule.
