The head of the State Veterinary Service of Azerbaijan reported
to the OIE on January 18, 2006 an
outbreak of Newcastle disease in the Masalli district, village of Binakhodzhavar (see map below). The outbreak occurred in a backyard poultry
flock of 20 birds and was initially detected on January
6, 2006. Control measures undertaken include
control of wildlife reservoirs, quarantine, movement control inside the
country, vaccination, and disinfection of infected premises. The last
