How extensive is the disease in the affected countries, and what was the disease status of the countries prior to the outbreak?
Bluetongue
virus (BTV) has been reported in one herd of 695 cattle in Cadiz province
in southern peninsular (mainland)
From 1998-2004, five serotypes
of BTV caused outbreaks in 16 countries in the Mediterranean basin and southern
